Lunar Fest 2019

Lunar Festival on February 10th, it was a rough day, with the cold, the beautiful dreadful snow, and a super small stage. Even we had difficulty capturing the event, but everyone made do. Every one still put in their best. It was hard because, throughout their rehearsals they were practicing in very wide and long formations, the fact that we had to perform on a smaller scale clearly had to accommodate and adapt therefore literally changing the routine... It's important to note that we aren't a bunch of "performers", we aren't one of those groups that go around as "professional cultural performers", we're just kids, teenagers, high schoolers, young professionals who gather almost every week to continue are culture.

The performances that we have been involved with have all been to promote our heritage by our own volition. These guys are all volunteering their time to learn about our culture and not JUST to perform of curious nor interested onlookers.

That being said, in my opinion this even was successful, and many agree. Because yeah sure they performed for a crowd, they pleased the organizers despite bearing with the situation that day. It was successful because we did it for US. WE danced, WE played and what's more important is the fact that they worked so hard the previous weeks, the practices and the fellowship during the workshops were the fruit of the success. Seriously this performance was only a cherry on top of the life of pie.

We aren't out here to perform for an audience. We're out here doin what we do! AYUUUHAY
